Steel mill
A large quantity of cooling water circulation is needed for the water used in steel mills (steel rolling/steel making); it includes direct water use (contact products) and indirect water use (equipment cooling); soft water/pure water; and a portion of wastewater treatment.
Direct water use:
Filtered water can usually fill the bill. A large amount of iron filings and oil stains will result from the contact process with the product so therefore, when the water is reused, one must be ensure that these impurities be effectively removed to facilitate the production process.

Indirect water:
With regard to steel mills, copper mold cooling, mechanical cooling, C.C. Spray cooling and emergency water systems are involved. Soft water is usually used to prevent fouling and damage to the equipment.
